THE LITTLE THINGS MATTER TOO

What Electrical Work Does graff electric handle in Wolsey?

Graff Electric covers 100-amp to 200-amp service upgrades, panel and breaker replacement, meter and meter-base work, dedicated circuit and outlet installation, exterior and accent lighting, LED lighting runs, ceiling fixtures, and whole-home rewiring. Agricultural customers get farmstead wiring for new construction and service work, including grain-site circuits and service-drop repair after storm damage. Commercial properties across the region get the same hands-on treatment.

Older homes and farmsteads in Beadle and Hand County regularly hide problems once a panel or wall is opened: undersized service, aluminum branch wiring, ungrounded circuits, or rodent damage that never showed up at the quote stage. Jaylon flags those issues clearly and walks you through the options before any extra work begins.

Our Process

How Does the Graff Electric Process Work?

01

Call or Text to Describe the Problem

Call or text (605) 353-5366 to reach Jaylon directly. Quotes are often ready within a day or two of that first contact, so you're never left waiting.

02

Receive a Free, Accurate On-Site Estimate

Jaylon visits the property, inspects the panel, circuits, or wiring in question, and gives you a written estimate. What he quotes is what you pay.

03

Schedule the Repair or Installation

Work is booked around your schedule, including coordination with the local utility when a service upgrade requires a disconnect and reconnect. Travel time to outlying areas like Doland, Hitchcock, or Alpena is factored in upfront.

04

Get the Work Done, Then Confirm It's Right

Jaylon completes the repair or installation, cleans the worksite after each visit, and follows up to make sure you understand exactly what was done. Customer Kristi noted that Jaylon "followed up and made sure I understood the whole repair", that's standard practice, not an exception.

PANEL & SERVICE UPGRADES

What does Electrical work cost in Wolsey, SD?

Pricing for electrician services depends on several factors: the scope of work, the size of the panel or service being upgraded, travel distance to the property, and whether a utility disconnect is required. A simple outlet or switch repair sits at a very different price point than a full 200-amp service upgrade with new meter base and dedicated circuits.

Graff Electric prices per job, not by the hour, so you know the number before any work starts. Because older farmhouses and farmsteads often reveal hidden wiring issues once walls are opened, scope can sometimes change. Jaylon communicates those discoveries before proceeding, never after. Why do Wolsey Homeowners Call Graff Electric First?

Jaylon Graff is not a dispatcher sending out a crew you've never met. He's the electrician who answers your call, pulls the permit, runs the wire, and signs off on the inspection. That owner-operated model keeps accountability clear on every job.

Customer Haley Coss described the experience as "accurate quotes, reliable communication, clean work, and exceptional attention to detail." Gunner Gilbertson had a bad switch and a damaged exterior outlet resolved in a two-day turnaround. Ian McClanahan called Jaylon "very easy to work with and responded quickly." Taryn Reidt said the "workmanship was skilled, precise, and dependable." One competitor even sent a customer to Graff Electric because, as Dusty Ginsbach put it, the competitor "thought Graff was the right fit."

That kind of word-of-mouth happens when the work is consistent and the communication is honest.Homeowners across Wolsey and the surrounding region count on Graff Electric for straightforward pricing, clean job sites, and real follow-through.

BUILDING OR REMODELING?

What Happens when a storm knocks out your power?

Storm-damage calls get same-day response when Graff Electric can safely reach the property. After a major weather event hit just outside Wolsey, Jaylon and technician Sam drove out the same day, worked around large fallen branches blocking access to the main breaker, repaired the downed lines, and had power restored before temperatures dropped further that night. Rhonda Baloun in Highmore saw the same response: Graff Electric "showed up in Highmore after the big storm" ready to repair storm damage.

One important reality: severe weather across central South Dakota creates surge demand. When a whole town is out, response times lengthen. Graff Electric will always communicate an honest arrival window rather than promise a time that can't be kept.

Which Communities does graff Electric Serve?

Graff Electric serves Wolsey, Huron, Highmore, Miller, Aberdeen, Watertown, Sioux Falls, Mitchell, Wessington Springs, Wessington, De Smet, Redfield, Tulare, Hitchcock, Alpena, Cavour, Doland, Conde, and Clark County, all across South Dakota. Jarrod Fredericks in Doland noted Jaylon "did a great job installing my accent lights," and the Highmore call after the storm shows how far the team travels to get someone's power back on.

The service area spans several hours of driving in some directions, so scheduling for outlying calls accounts for travel time honestly. Closer towns along the US-14 and US-281 corridor typically see faster availability.

Common Questions

What Wolsey Homeowners and Farmers Ask Us

How much does an electrician cost in Wolsey, SD?

Graff Electric prices per job rather than by the hour, so you get a firm number before any work begins. Cost depends on the scope of work, the size of the panel or service being upgraded, travel distance to the property, and whether the utility has to disconnect and reconnect power. A single outlet or switch repair falls at a very different price point than a full 200-amp service upgrade with a new meter base and dedicated circuits. Every estimate is free and done on site, and what Jaylon quotes is what you pay. If opening a wall or panel reveals hidden issues, which happens often in older farmhouses, he explains the change in scope before proceeding rather than adding it to the final invoice. Call (605) 401-8697 for a free estimate.
One important reality: severe weather across central South Dakota creates surge demand. When a whole town is out, response times lengthen. Graff Electric will always communicate an honest arrival window rather than promise a time that can't be kept.

Does Graff Electric do farm and agricultural wiring?

Yes. Agricultural work is a core part of the business, not a side service. Graff Electric handles farmstead wiring for new construction, service work on existing buildings, grain-site circuits, and service-drop repair after storm damage. That makes it the only electrical contractor in the Wolsey area covering residential, commercial, and agricultural wiring under one roof. Older farmsteads throughout Beadle and Hand County commonly hide problems that only surface once a panel or wall is opened: undersized service, aluminum branch wiring, ungrounded circuits, or rodent damage. Jaylon flags those issues clearly and walks you through your options before any additional work starts. Whether it's a new grain site, a shop circuit, or a rewire on a century-old farmhouse, the same owner-operated standard applies.
The service area spans several hours of driving in some directions, so scheduling for outlying calls accounts for travel time honestly. Closer towns along the US-14 and US-281 corridor typically see faster availability.

How quickly can Graff Electric respond after a storm knocks out power?

Storm-damage calls get same-day response whenever the property can be safely reached. After a major weather event just outside Wolsey, Jaylon and technician Sam drove out the same day, worked around large fallen branches blocking access to the main breaker, repaired the downed lines, and restored power before temperatures dropped further that night. Rhonda Baloun in Highmore saw the same response after a major storm hit her area. One honest caveat: severe weather across central South Dakota creates surge demand, and when an entire town is out, response times stretch. Rather than promising an arrival time that can't be kept, Graff Electric gives you a realistic window and keeps you updated. Call or text (605) 401-8697 as soon as you spot damage to a service drop, meter base, or panel.

What's involved in upgrading to a 200-amp electrical service?

A service upgrade typically includes a new panel and breakers, a new meter base, and coordination with the local utility to disconnect and reconnect power. Graff Electric handles service upgrades from 100-amp to 200-amp, and Jaylon performs and oversees the work himself, from pulling the permit to running the wire to signing off on the inspection. After your first call or text, a quote is often ready within a day or two. The job is then scheduled around your availability and the utility's, since the disconnect has to line up. Most homeowners look at an upgrade when the existing panel is full, breakers trip repeatedly, or new loads like a shop, well, or added circuits exceed what the current service can carry. Estimates are free and written.

What areas does Graff Electric serve, and is travel charged extra?

Graff Electric serves Wolsey, Huron, Highmore, Miller, Aberdeen, Watertown, Sioux Falls, Mitchell, Wessington Springs, Wessington, De Smet, Redfield, Tulare, Hitchcock, Alpena, Cavour, Doland, Conde, and Clark County across South Dakota. Travel distance is factored into the estimate upfront, so there's no surprise trip charge on the invoice. Towns along the US-14 and US-281 corridor generally see faster availability, while calls further out are scheduled with honest travel time built in. Jarrod Fredericks in Doland had accent lights installed, and the team drove to Highmore after a major storm to get power restored. If you're unsure whether your property falls inside the service area, call (605) 401-8697 and Jaylon will give you a straight answer on availability and timing.
